Abstract:Magistrsko delo obravnava uporabo lastnih finančnih sredstev učiteljev razrednega pouka za nakup učnih pripomočkov in izvedbo pouka v osnovni šoli.

Title:Personal Financial Contributions of Classroom Teachers in Support of the Learning Process in Primary Schools
Abstract:This master's thesis examines the use of classroom teachers' personal financial resources for purchasing teaching materials and conducting lessons in primary schools. The theoretical section first introduces the subjects Natural and Social Environment and Science and Technology. It then outlines the essential school supplies required by pupils, the public procurement system, the economic situation of teachers, and their professional development. The empirical section is based on a study conducted among classroom teachers in Slovenia's primary schools, analysing their experiences, reasons for using personal funds, and the types of supplies they most frequently purchase. The findings indicate that teachers often resort to personal financial contributions due to the complexity of procurement procedures, insufficient school budgets, or a desire to enhance the quality of instruction. Personal funds are most commonly spent on didactic materials, office supplies, art materials, and gifts for pupils. It has been pointed out that some teachers prefer purchasing supplies themselves to avoid lengthy bureaucratic procedures. The study concludes that schools should receive increased financial support, and procurement procedures for teaching materials should be simplified. The current system imposes additional burdens on teachers and makes their work more difficult. The research highlights the challenges teachers face while also offering recommendations for improving the funding of teaching materials in primary schools.
