V zaključku diplomsko delo poudarja pomembnost reforme policijskih praks, vključno z obveznimi izobraževanji o rasni občutljivosti, večjo preglednost in odgovornost policije ter vključevanje skupnosti. Delo prispeva k razumevanju vzrokov in posledic policijskega nasilja nad temnopoltimi v ZDA ter vključuje predloge za izboljšanje stanja in zmanjšanje neenakosti.

Title:Police violence against black people in USA
Abstract:The thesis discusses the issue of police violence against Black individuals in the United States, which is deeply rooted in the historical, social, and institutional inequalities within American society. The purpose of the thesis is to examine the scope of this phenomenon and answer the research questions, such as: • the significance of the historical impact of racism, • the role of stereotypes, racial bias, dehumanization, racial profiling, and institutional racism, • the impact of education, training, and police culture on preventing violence. The thesis is theoretical in nature, and the research is based on the analysis of articles, studies, and statistical data. It also includes an analysis of George Floyd's case. The research findings indicate that Black individuals in the U.S. are disproportionately victims of police violence due to a combination of historical and racial prejudices, lack of adequate oversight, and systemic discrimination. The consequences of such violence include psychological trauma within discriminated communities and an increase in social unrest. In conclusion, the thesis discusses the importance of reforming police practices, including mandatory training on racial sensitivity, greater transparency and accountability in policing, and community involvement. The thesis contributes to understanding the causes and effects of police violence against Black people in the U.S. and includes recommendations for improving the situation and reducing inequalities.
