Abstract:Razširjeni program osnovne šole, čigar namen je prispevati k optimalnemu razvoju učencev, predstavlja pomemben del izobraževalnega sistema v Sloveniji.

Title:The after-school teacher
Abstract:The after-school program of Slovene primary school, which is part of the extended day program, plays a vital role in student development and supporting working parents. Currently, Slovenia is at the turning point of change; however, the essence remains. Schools are introducing a more structured extended day program, which now offers a greater variety of activities but otherwise remains voluntary and, like the after-school program, also takes place after school. In the theoretical part, we defined the significance of the after-school program, the teacher's work, collaboration with others, workplace challenges, and the future vision of the program in Slovenia. Through empirical research, we wanted to discover why teachers in the Podravje region decided to work in the after-school program, as well as information about their motivation, competence, challenges at work, cooperation with others, their opinion of the program, and their vision for the future. The analysis of the questionnaire responses offered insight into the problem, revealing that more experienced teachers and classroom teachers feel most qualified to work in the after-school program. Within the scope of the changes to the extended program, they primarily want less structured activities or more free time for play and exercise.
