Title:Povezanost emocionalne inteligentnosti in modrosti z zadovoljstvom v romatičnih razmerjih v zgodnji in srednji odrasli dobi : magistrsko delo

Abstract:Emocionalna inteligentnost si je na konceptualni ravni podobna z modrostjo. Oba konstrukta vključujeta napredne ravni čustvenega zavedanja in uravnavanja čustev, kar naj bi vzpodbujalo zadovoljstvo z romantičnimi odnosi. Obdobje zgodnje odraslosti je zaznamovano s pripravo na partnerstvo in straševstvo, v smeri razvijanja intimnosti, prevzemanja partnerskih obvez in oblikovanja stabilnih in trajnih romantičnih odnosov. Te naloge pa se še poglabljajo v obdobju srednje odraslosti. V naši raziskavi, kjer smo želeli ugotoviti kakšna je povezanost emocionalne inteligentnosti, modrosti in zadovoljstva v romantičnih razmerjih, v obdobju zgodnje in srednje odraslosti in ali sta emocionalna inteligentnost in modrost napovednika zadovoljstva v romantičnih razmerjih, je sodelovalo 213 udeležencev. Ugotovili smo, da sta emocionalna inteligentnost in modrost pozitivno povezana z zadovoljstvom v romantičnih razmerjih, in da je emocionalna inteligentnost pomemben napovednik zadovoljstva. Prav tako smo ugotovili, da prihaja do razlik v samoocenjevanju na dimenzijah emocionalne inteligentnosti, glede na spol. Pri tem se moški ocenjujejo višje na dimenziji samokontrola, ženske pa se ocenjujejo višje na dimenziji čustvenost. Na dimenziji čustvenost so vidne razlike tudi glede na starost, in sicer mlajši odrasli so se ocenjevali kot bolj čustvene kot srednji odrasli. V samoocenjeni modrosti ne opažamo razlik, glede na starost.

Title:The connection of emotional intelligence and wisdom with satisfaction within romantic relationships in early and middle adulthood
Abstract:Emotional intelligence is on a conceptual level similar to wisdom. Both constructs involve advanced levels of emotional awareness and regulation, which presumably promote satisfaction within romantic relationships. The period of early adulthood is marked by preparation for partnership and parenthood, in terms of developing intimacy, assuming partnership obligations and forming stable and lasting romantic relationships. Moreover, these tasks continue to deepen during middle adulthood. 213 participants participated in the research, where the relationship between emotional intelligence, wisdom and satisfaction within romantic relationships in early and middle adulthood, and whether emotional intelligence and wisdom are predictors of satisfaction within romantic relationships were observed. It was determined that emotional intelligence and wisdom are positively related to satisfaction in romantic relationships, and that emotional intelligence is a significant predictor of satisfaction. Gender related differences were also discovered in self-assessment within the dimensions of emotional intelligence, wherein men were rated higher in the dimension of self-control, while women were rated higher in the dimension of emotionality. Differences within the dimension of emotionality were also visible according to age, namely, younger adults rated themselves as more emotional than middle-aged adults. Differences in self-assessed wisdom according to age were not noticed.
