Abstract:Tehnološka sredstva, kot so mobilni telefoni in računalniki, so postala nepogrešljiva v našem vsakdanjem življenju, vendar prinašajo številna tveganja, še posebej za otroke. Zaradi omejenega znanja o digitalnih nevarnostih, so otroci izpostavljeni večjemu tveganju.

Title:Parents care for the safety of their underage children in the digital environment
Abstract:Technological tools, such as mobile phones and computers, have become indispensable in our daily lives, but they also pose numerous risks, especially for children. Due to limited knowledge of digital dangers, children are exposed to greater risks. Parents need to be well informed about risks such as cyberbullying, exposure to inappropriate content, and identity theft to effectively protect their children. This thesis focuses on parents' opinions about technology use among children, their methods for ensuring safety, and their awareness of cyber risk. The research was conducted through interviews with 21 parents of children aged 6 to 14 years to gain insight into their approaches and challenges in protecting children online. The results indicated that parents use various strategies to protect their children, including limiting device access, monitoring content, and communication. Although most parents believe that supervision is crucial, they often face challenges, such as outdated knowledge and difficulties with complete monitoring. It is important for parents to improve their knowledge of digital safety and communicate actively with their children. This study emphasizes the need for greater awareness and education for parents and the role of educational institutions in protecting children in the digital world.
