Title:Konformnost s tradicionalnimi moškimi spolnimi vlogami v odnosu do samomorilnosti in stališč do iskanja pomoči pri moških : magistrsko delo

Abstract:Samomorilnost je eden izmed glavnih javnozdravstvenih problemov, še posebej samomorilnost moških. Ti iščejo strokovno psihološko pomoč redkeje kot ženske, še posebej tisti, ki visoko konformirajo s tradicionalnimi moškimi spolnimi vlogami. Redkeje iščejo pomoč tudi tisti, ki več poročajo o samomorilni ideaciji. Namen magistrskega dela je ugotoviti, ali se omenjeni odnosi pojavljajo tudi na slovenskem vzorcu, ki je zajemal 108 moških, starih med 19 in 85 let. Uporabili smo vprašalnik konformnosti s tradicionalnimi moškimi spolnimi vlogami, samomorilne ideacije in stališč do iskanja pomoči. Podatke smo analizirali s pomočjo multiple regresije in moderacije, izvedli pa smo še klastrsko analizo. Ugotovili smo, da s konformnostjo s tradicionalnimi moškimi spolnimi vlogami, samomorilno ideacijo in starostjo lahko napovemo stališča do iskanja pomoči. Odnos med tradicionalnimi moškimi spolnimi vlogami in stališči do iskanja pomoči moderira starost, odnosa med samomorilno ideacijo in stališči do iskanja pomoči pa ne moderira konformnost s tradicionalnimi moškimi spolnimi vlogami. S konformnostjo s tradicionalnimi moškimi spolnimi vlogami ne moremo napovedati samomorilne ideacije. S klastrsko analizo smo vzorec razdelili na dve skupini in zanju predlagali možne oblike pomoči. Kljub nekaterim pomanjkljivostim raziskava osvetljuje odnose med opisanimi konstrukti, nadaljnje raziskovanje na tem področju pa je nujno potrebno.

Title:Conformity to traditional masculinity norms in relation to suicidality and seeking help in men
Abstract:Suicide is one of the biggest public health problems, especially male suicide. Men are less likely to seek professional psychological help than women, especially those who strongly conform to traditional masculinity norms. Those who report more suicidal ideation also seek help less. The aim of this master's thesis was to determine whether the aforementioned relationships also occur in a Slovenian sample, which included 108 men aged between 19 and 85 years. We used a questionnaire on conformity to traditional masculinity norms, suicidal ideation and attitudes towards seeking help. We analyzed the data using multiple regression, moderation, and also conducted a cluster analysis. We found that conformity to traditional masculinity norms, suicidal ideation, and age predicted help-seeking attitudes. The relationship between traditional masculinity norms and help-seeking attitudes is moderated by age, but the relationship between suicidal ideation and help-seeking attitudes is not moderated by conformity to traditional masculinity norms. Conformity to traditional masculinity norms does not predict suicidal ideation. Using cluster analysis, we divided the sample into two groups and suggested possible forms of help for them. Thus, despite its shortcomings, the study sheds light on the relationships between the described constructs, but further research in this area is necessary.
