Abstract:Zaključno delo predstavlja problematiko z vidika prometne varnosti, s katero se soočajo starejši vozniki motornih vozil.

Title:Road safety problem of elderly drivers road safety problems of elderly drivers
Abstract:The final work shows the problems from the point of view of road safety, which are faced by elderly drivers of motor vehicles. The basic purpose is to introduce their safety in traffic, through the accident analysis and with an experiment that we conducted at the faculty. The analysis of road accidents shows detailed information of accidents caused by elderly drivers, for the 2012–2022. About 20 % of road accidents are caused by them. For a better understanding the results of traffic accident analysis, an experiment was conducted with 30 volunteers of different ages. Experiment included a survey with road traffic test and a driving simulator with eye-tracking glasses. We compared the results of the experiment by age group and found that knowledge about road traffic regulations decreases over the years. One of the important findings is that, despite the lower driving speed, elderly drivers have a longer reaction time compared to the other drivers. At the end are given possible suggestions for improving road safety.
