Namen empiričnega dela je bil ugotoviti, kakšna stališča imajo učenci tretjega, četrtega in petega razreda dvojezičnih osnovnih šol do dvojezičnega pouka.

Title:Attitudes of lower primary education pupils of bilingual primary school to bilingual teaching
Abstract:The master's thesis consists of two final parts - a theoretical and an empirical part. The theoretical part presents the theoretical starting points, namely bilingualism and bilingual education in the Prekmurje area. The purpose of the empirical work was to determine the attitudes of students in the third, fourth and fifth grades of bilingual primary schools towards bilingual education. The research found that students have positive attitudes towards bilingual education and the environment. Most of the students surveyed like that the lessons are held in both languages (Slovenian and Hungarian). As an important finding, we point out that students believe that they will acquire adequate knowledge of the Slovenian language in the framework of primary school education for continuing their education in Slovenia. The results also confirm that students with Hungarian as their mother tongue believe that they will reach appropriate knowledge of the Hungarian language to continue their education in Hungary. The students also expressed positive attitudes towards living in a bilingual environment and believe that being bilingual helps them to get along better with their classmates and peers because they speak both languages, and this is very important for their better well-being. We can summarize that this agreement means the awareness that appropriate knowledge of both languages will help them to obtain new opportunities for work and education. It is important that bilingual education encourages and enables members of the Hungarian national minority to be successfully included in the educational process. We found that the two-way educational model works within the educational process and thus teaches students coexistence and tolerance, regardless of belonging.
