Abstract:Uvod: Anafilaksija predstavlja hudo alergijsko reakcijo, ki lahko ob izpostavljenosti alergenom ogrozi otrokovo življenje. Uporabljene so bile deskriptivna metoda dela, metoda analize in sinteze. Iskanje literature je potekalo v mednarodnih bazah podatkov PubMed, CINAHL, Cochrane Library in Web of Science.

Title:The nurse´s role in the prevention and treatment of anaphylaxis in children
Abstract:Introduction: Anaphylaxis is a severe allergic reaction that can endanger a child's life upon exposure to allergens. In the management of a child experiencing anaphylaxis, the nurse plays a significant role. The purpose of this diploma thesis is to determine the role of the nurse in the prevention and management of anaphylaxis in children. Methods: A review of scientific literature has been conducted, using descriptive method of work, method of analysis and synthesis. Literature search was performed in international databases PubMed, CINAHL, Cochrane Library and Web of Science. The process of literature search is shown in a diagram of the literature search process. The strength of evidence was determined using the hierarchy of evidence. Results: Nine articles were included in the analysis. The role of the nurse in managing a child with anaphylaxis is primarily manifested in performing a rapid and accurate assessment of the child's condition and monitoring vital signs. The nurse must also ensure the prompt administration of appropriate treatment, including the use of an adrenaline autoinjector, ensuring appropriate position, provide psychological support to the child and their family, and collaborate with other healthcare team members. Discussion and Conclusion: To improve the healthcare of children with anaphylaxis, greater awareness and education are needed for healthcare workers, caregivers, parents, children and adolescents, as well as educators and teachers. Nurses must have adequate training to effectively manage anaphylaxis, as early diagnosis and appropriate treatment are critical to reducing the risk of anaphylactic reactions in children.
