Title:Discrimination against persons with disabillities in finding employment
Abstract:Introduction: Discrimination against persons with disabilities is occurring in numerous fields, even in the field of employment. It can occur in different employment processes and all other employment related activities. Methods: To achieve the purpose of the research, we used the methods of the quantitative research paradigm, namely the secondary statistical data analysis. The data for the analysis of variables were taken from the Eurostat international database. Results: The results of the research found large differences in the employment gap between persons with and without disabilities among European Union countries, and large differences in distribution strategies, but not a linear relationship between the employment gap and share of social transfer expenditures compared to shares of expenditures for administrative costs of the system, share of expenditure on social protection compared to shares of expenditure on education, health, defence, protection, public order and general security, share of expenditure on prevention of social exclusion and unemployment compared to shares of expenditure on other areas of social protection or share of expenditure on aid and support for disability, unemployment and social exclusion compared to expenditure on other groups of socially excluded. Discussion and conclusion: The European Union is founded on the fight against all forms of discrimination and seeks for special protection of vulnerable groups. Among these groups are people with disabilities, as disability often causes critical difficulties in finding employment.
