Title:Illegal migration through Slovenia in the last decade
Abstract:From the very beginning, man was a nomad and changed his dwellings in order to survive. He migrated because of the need for food, water, security, or in general, he simply researched. Illegal migration refers to the movement of people across national borders without the appropriate permits or documentation required by the country of destination. They thus represent a complex and multifaceted issue that presents major challenges and opportunities from different perspectives. From a national security perspective, irregular migration can pose a threat to the security of countries, while at the same time offering opportunities to improve border security and international cooperation. Finally, international cooperation is essential to effectively manage irregular migration, but it can be a challenge due to conflicting interests and limited resources. Addressing irregular migration requires a coordinated and balanced approach that takes into account the complex interplay of these different factors. In the last decade, at the international level, and consequently also in the Republic of Slovenia, the rapidly growing illegal migration has been perceived as a security challenge, with which a large number of other forms of organised crime are associated.
