Sprva opišemo kovidno krizo in delovanje Svetovne banke v razvijajočih se državah, kjer organizacija že dolga leta pomaga povečati dostop do higienskih in zdravstvenih storitev.

Title:The role of the world bank in the rehabilitation of modern crises
Abstract:Within the context of this assignment, we describe the problematics faced by international institutions such as the World Bank alongside its branches. In the theoretical section we set the backdrop to our analysis with an overview of the World Bank's past, the reasons behind its founding and the organization's growth as time passes. We describe all the branches of the World Bank and its services, which they offer to investors as well as those who carry out projects as well as the project cycle, including the phases through which new projects are formed. We shall also provide a short overview of some of the largest projects which the World Bank participated in – as well as the projects which ran into various difficulties along their long-term execution. We describe the critique which most often brings attention to harmful activities of the World Bank and the fact, that the World Bank's collaboration alone, in some cases, does not guarantee long-term economic growth. In the practical section we describe in detail the larger modern-day problematics which in our selected time period present risk and challenges on a global scale. Firstly, we describe the Covid crisis and the actions of the World Bank in developing countries, where the organization spent long years helping to increase access to services relating to basic hygiene and access to healthcare. It is these countries which also suffer the largest consequences of climate change. We describe the consequences of rising temperatures, which the most vulnerable population will have to bear. The majority of the practical section is dedicated to the Russo-Ukrainian war, which presents the largest military conflict on the European continent since the end of the second world war. As the World Bank primarily deals with financing larger long-term projects, we have created a selection of a few potential projects and connected their specific situation with similar projects from the past in the effort of achieving better understanding of the World Bank's potential in the renovation, which awaits Ukraine after the war reaches its end. We also describe the risk of rising sea levels and strong inflation on the decision-making processes of international financial organizations, as well as potential measures with which foreign direct investor can reduce long-term risk.
