Abstract:
Motnje uživanja psihoaktivnih snovi so med najbolj pogostimi komorbidnimi motnjami duševnih bolezni. Pri pacientu vplivajo škodljivo na njegovo zdravje in delovanje, na stranske učinke zdravil in prispevajo k povečanemu število nasilnih dejanj. Metode: Za namen izdelave zaključnega dela smo izvedli pregled literature in uporabili deskriptivno metodo dela. Zbrano literaturo smo pridobili iz podatkovnih baz Cinahl, PubMed, Science Direct, SAGE Journals, Wiley Online Library in Web of Science. Literaturo smo pregledali in analizirali ter določili nivoje dokazov izbranih člankov. Potek iskanja smo prikazali v diagramu PRISMA.

Title:
Alcohol dependence in people with schizophrenia
Abstract:
Introduction: The aim of this thesis is to review the literature to determine how the presence of schizophrenia affects the incidence of alcohol dependence. Psychoactive substance use disorders are among the most common comorbid mental disorders. They have a detrimental effect on the patient's health and functioning, on the side effects of medication and contribute to increased violent acts. Methods: For the purpose of this thesis, we conducted a literature review and used the descriptive method of work. The literature was retrieved from Cinahl, PubMed, Science Direct, SAGE Journals, Wiley Online Library and Web of Science databases. The literature was reviewed and analysed to determine the levels of evidence of the selected articles. The search process was illustrated in a PRISMA diagram. Results: We included 12 identified studies in the final analysis. We found that the presence of alcohol in people with schizophrenia depends on the individual's environment and its characteristics. Discussion and conclusion: The link between alcohol dependence and schizophrenia is bidirectional, as there is still a lack of evidence in this area that either alcohol is to blame for the onset of schizophrenia or schizophrenia is to blame for the onset of alcohol dependence. Studies have been carried out in different continents of the world, with different populations of people, and the results vary considerably accordingly.
