Abstract:
Iskani so bili članki izključno v angleškem jeziku v naslednjih podatkovnih bazah: MEDLINE, PubMed, CINAHL, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, Wiley ter SAGE. Razprava in zaključek: Nefarmakološke intervencije učinkovito zmanjšajo bolečino pri bolnikih z multiplo sklerozo. Pri večini intervencij so bolniki navajali opazno zmanjšanje bolečine. Nefarmakološke intervencije so dostopne, ugodne in učinkovite.

Title:
Non-Pharmacological interventions for pain reduction in patients with multiple sclerosis
Abstract:
Introduction: Multiple sclerosis ia a chronic inflammatory diasease of the central nevrous system, that most often affects young adults. A common symptom that occurs in the majority of patients with multiple scerosis is pain. In addition to pharmacological interventions, non-pharmacological interventions are also used to reduce pain. The aim of this thesis in to invstigate, how non-pharmacological inteventions reduce pain in patients with multiple scerosis. Methods: A review of the scientific litetrature was performed. We searched for articles exclusively in English in the following databases: MEDLINE, PubMed, CINHAL, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, Wiley and SAGE. The course of the literature search was presented using the PRISMA diagram. We synthesized the collected sources based on the descriptive method in the form of a synthesis table. Results: We found 993 records in the databases, 9 articles were included in the analysis. Based on these articles, we conclude that there is relevant evidence that non-pharmacological interventions affect pain reduction in patients with multiple sclerosis. We also note that number of studies on non-pharmacological interventions to reduce pain is small. Discussion and Conclusion: non-pharmacological interventions effecitvely reduce pain in patients with multiple sclerosis. In the majority of interventions , patients reported a noticeable reduction in pain. Non-pharmaclogical interventions are accessible, affordable and effective. We believe that non-pharmacological interventions should be used more frequently for pain reduction in patients with multiple sclerosis, both in the hospital and at home.
