Abstract:V sodobnem času si življenja brez tehnologije praktično ne znamo predstavljati, saj je tehnologija postala ena ključnih dobrin, da lahko učinkovito funkcioniramo. V diplomskem delu se bomo usmerili na področje tehnologije, poimenovane splet, ki igra pomembno vlogo v našem vsakdanjem življenju. Pojem splet večina uporabnikov razume kot pomoč oz. orodje pri iskanju informacij. Večina pa se jih ne zaveda, da brskajo samo po t. i. površinskem spletu, ki predstavlja le majhen delež oz. le manjšo plast celotnega spleta. Naslednja in tudi največja plast spleta se imenuje globoki splet in predstavlja večinski del celote. Vključuje podatke, ki jih uporabnik ne more pridobiti z enostavnim klikom na iskalno vrstico, kot pri površinskem spletu. Naslednja plast in tudi naš predmet diplomskega dela pa je tako imenovani temni splet, do katerega lahko dostopamo izključno z uporabo posebnih orodji, ki nam omogočajo anonimnost. Ker se zavedamo, kako težko je dandanes priti do popolne zasebnosti in zanesljivosti na spletu, smo se odločili, da se bomo osredotočili na problem zasebnosti posameznika na temnem spletu. Pri tem se bomo naslonili na orodja za dostop in tako preverili njihovo delovanje in učinkovitost pri zagotavljanju zasebnosti. Poskusili bomo odgovoriti na vprašanje, ali se ta vrsta spleta uporablja zgolj za doseganje anonimnosti. Ker pa si večina ljudi pod pojmom temni splet predstavlja ilegalne dejavnosti, bomo področje legalnih dejavnosti, za katere se uporablja temni splet, prav tako raziskali. Dotaknili se bomo tudi zasebnosti na površinskem spletu, saj menimo, da je raziskava tega področja ključna za lažje razumevanja zasebnosti na temnem spletu. V raziskovalnem delu diplomskega dela se bomo osredotočili na pridobivanje informacij s pomočjo ankete med splošno populacijo z namenom, da dobimo večjo sliko o prepoznavanju temnega spleta v Sloveniji. Prav tako pa bomo preverili, ali se naši anketiranci poslužujejo raznih zaščitnih ukrepov za varovanje zasebnosti na površinskem spletu. Z ustreznim raziskovanjem in anketo bomo lažje določili smernice za smiselno uporabo temnega spleta z vidika običajnega uporabnika spleta.

Title:Privacy on the dark web
Abstract:In this day and age we can hardly imagine life without technology, as it has become one of the key assets needed to function in today's world. The thesis focuses on the field of technology that plays an important role in our everyday lives, which is called the web. The web is considered to be an aid or tool for most users to help them find what they are looking for. However, most of them do not realize they are only browsing the so-called surface web, which represents only a small part or layer of the entire web. The next and the largest layer of the web is called the deep web, which represents the majority of the whole web. It includes data that cannot be retrieved by simply clicking on the search bar, as is the case with the surface web. The next layer, and also the subject of our thesis, is the so-called dark web, which can only be accessed using special tools that allow us to remain anonymous. We are aware of how difficult it is to achieve complete privacy and security online nowadays. That is why we have decided to focus on the issue of privacy on the dark web, where we would rely on access tools to verify their performance and effectiveness in ensuring privacy. We will try to answer to the question whether this part of the web is used solely to achieve anonymity. We will also explore the area of legal activities for which the dark web is used, even though most people first think of illegal activities when it is mentioned. We will also touch upon privacy on the surface web, because we believe it will consequently enable easier understanding of privacy of the dark web. In the research part of the thesis, we will focus on obtaining information through a survey among the general population in order to get a better picture of the recognition of the dark web in Slovenia. We will also analyze if the respondents use different security measurements that ensue privacy on the surface web. This will help us determine the guidelines for sensible use of the dark web that will be of help for an ordinary web user.
