Abstract:	Uvod: Multipla skleroza kljub vsemu zdravljenju in aktivnostih, ki pripomorejo k ustavitvi poslabšanja bolezni, ostaja bolezen, ki bistveno spremeni življenjski slog obolelega in ima velik vpliv na kakovost življenja bolnikov in njihovih svojcev. Namen zaključnega dela je pregledati in sintetizirati raziskave o paliativni oskrbi pri bolnikih z multiplo sklerozo. Metode: Izvedli smo narativni pregled literature. Literaturo smo iskali v mednarodnih podatkovnih bazah: PubMed, CINAHL, Medline, Web of Science, ter z iskalnikom Google Scholar. Potek iskanja literature smo prikazali v PRISMA diagramu. Za sintezo zbranih identificiranih raziskav smo uporabili vsebinsko analizo. Rezultati: V končno analizo literature smo vključili deset člankov, ki so ustrezali izbranim vključitvenim kriterijem. Vključevanje v proces paliativne oskrbe izboljša zadovoljstvo bolnikov z multiplo sklerozo in njihovih pomembnih drugih, posledično pa vpliva na izboljšano kakovost življenja bolnikov, saj jih razbremeni, omogoča več komunikacije z zdravstvenim osebjem in lajša telesne simptome bolezni. Razprava in zaključek: Življenje z multiplo sklerozo predstavlja velik izziv tako za bolnike kot tudi za njihove svojce, a vključevanje v paliativno oskrbo zviša raven kakovosti življenja. Paliativna oskrba izboljša kakovost življenja na fizičnem, socialnem, psihološkem in ekonomskem področju.

Title:	The impact of palliative care on the quality of life of patients with multiple sclerosis
Abstract:	Introduction: Despite all the treatment and activities that help to stop the deterioration of the disease, multiple sclerosis remains a disease that significantly changes the lifestyle of the sufferer and has a great impact on the quality of life of patients and their relatives. The purpose of the final paper is to review and synthesize research on palliative care for patients with multiple sclerosis. Methods: We conducted a narrative literature review. Literature was searched in international databases: PubMed, CINAHL, Medline, Web of Science and Google Scholar. The course of the literature search was shown in the PRISMA diagram. Content analysis was used to synthesize the collected research. Results: In the final analysis of the literature, we included ten articles that met the selected inclusion criteria. Involvement in the palliative care process improves the satisfaction of patients with multiple sclerosis and their significant others, which in turn affects the improved quality of life of patients, as it relieves them, allows more communication with medical staff and alleviates the physical symptoms of the disease. Discussion and conclusion: Living with multiple sclerosis presents a great challenge for both patients and ther relatives, but inclusion in palliative care increases the level of quality of life. Palliative care improves the quality of life in the physical, social, psychological and economic spheres.
