Abstract:
Diplomsko delo obravnava omejitve in rešitve za učinkovito komuniciranje zemlje z nanosatelitom v visoki orbiti. Ogleda si postopek implementacije rešitve za stiskanje brez izgub in zajemanja fotografij z mikro kamero AMS NanEyeC. Za stiskanje uporablja knjižnico heatshrink, ki v ozadju uporablja algoritem LZSS. Demonstrira tudi zajem in stisnjen prenos fotografije iz delujočega satelita. V sklepu kritično obravnava lastno implementacijo in razmišlja o potencialnih izboljšavah na prihodnjih satelitih.

Title:
On-Board data capture and compression on TRISAT-R nanosatellite
Abstract:
This thesis takes a closer look at limitations and software solutions for efficient Earth to high-orbit nanosatellite communication. It covers implementation of lossless data compression and image capture using AMS NanEyeC micro camera. It makes use of the heatshrink library, based on the commonly used LZSS compression algorithm. Additionally, it demonstrates image capture and compressed download from an operating satellite. It concludes with critical self-evaluation and discusses possible improvements for future generations of small scale nanosatellites.
