Abstract:
Gradivo smo poiskali v podatkovnih bazah PubMed, CINAHL in Web of Science ter potek iskanja prikazali v diagramu PRISMA.

Title:
The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on student mental health
Abstract:
Introduction: Coronavirus infection (COVID-19) is a contagious disease that has brought the world to the centre of a global pandemic. It has consequences on the general population's mental health and has mainly affected young adults during their education and growing up. The final work aimed to determine the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on student mental health. Methods: We performed a systematic review, analysis, and synthesis of the literature on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on students' mental health. We searched for the material in the databases, such as PubMed, Cinahl and Web of Science and showed the search process in the PRISMA diagram. We reviewed and analyzed the professional and scientific literature and determined the levels of evidence in selected articles. Results: Nineteen articles were included in the final analysis. Based on the selected sources, we found that the COVID-19 pandemic has affected students' lives, reflected in their psychological well-being. As a result of numerous measures, such as social isolation, prohibited gatherings, distance education and the inability to work, students experienced increased anxiety, depression, panic attacks, sleep disorders, suicidal thoughts, and stress. Discussion and conclusion: Due to the problems caused by the pandemic, it can be argued that the mental health of students has deteriorated, which would require the establishment of better social support and the development of appropriate public health interventions to address the emotional, psychological, and social needs of adolescents.
