Skozi ples otrok izraža svoja doživljanja, razvija občutja skozi gibalne sposobnosti in ustvarjalnost. Zato smo se odločili, da skozi diplomsko delo ugotovimo, kako otroci doživljajo pravljico skozi ples in kako ustvarjalni so na tem področju.

Title:Children`s dance creation of the fairytale The Special Kind of Squirrel
Abstract:Dance is very important for a child`s integral development. Through dance, children express their experiences and feelings; they develop motor skills and creativity. Therefore, we decided to explore how children experience a fairy tale with the help of dance and in the process develop their own creativity. The diploma thesis consists of theoretical and practical work. In the theoretical part, we focused on dance, dance in the preschool period, dance creativity and impact of music on a child’s development. We also focused on the importance of fairy tales in the preschool period and defined project work in kindergarten. In the practical part of the diploma thesis, as a part of the project work, we planned nine activities based on the fairy tale Squirrel of a Special Variety by author Svetlana Makarovič. They included different types of dance activities. We introduced those activities to children and through them the children became acquainted with the content of the fairy tale. The activities were carried out in a kindergarten with a group of children aged 5 – 6. Based on observation and evaluation, we monitored the children`s responses, their reactions to the presented fairy tale and their dance creation. We have established that children like to collaborate in the project work and that dance activities contributed to a deeper understanding and experience of the fairy tale. It was also easier for children to get to know and connect with the literary heroes through dance.
