Abstract:Cilj je ovog diplomskog rada identificirati posebnost strukture i karakteristike procesa regrutacije u radikalne i ekstremističke skupine u državama bivše Socijalističke Federativne Republike Jugoslavije (u nastavku bivše Jugoslavije).

Title:Recruitment of persons into radical and extremist groups on the territory of the former yugoslavia
Abstract:The aim of this thesis is to identify the specific structure and characteristics of the recruitment process into radical and extremist groups in the states of the former Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (in continuation former Yugoslavia). The research seeks to determine the specific situation within the countries (Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, and North Macedonia) of the former Yugoslavia. According to the main thesis, although located in the same region, each of these countries of the former Yugoslavia has a challenge with different radical and extremist groups, and there are also differences in places and factors of success of recruitment mentioned groups. The presented data were collected as part of the quantitative research “Experts' Attitudes on the Prevalence and Recruitment of Radical and Extremist Groups in the Former Yugoslav States”, during the first half of 2021. The results show that there are specifics within each country separately regarding the profile of radical and extremist groups and the process of recruitment into these groups. The most common form of extremism in countries is extremism related to nationality and right-wing extremism, which is often equated. Online platforms are the most probable place for recruitment, while young people are at most risk for recruitment in every country, according to experts. Although there are characteristics that are common to all, each country has its own specifics regarding the profile.
