Abstract:Magistrsko delo obravnava pedagogiko prostega časa kot znanstveno disciplino. Najprej je predstavljeno zgodovinsko ozadje pojmovanja prostega časa in podana je njegova opredelitev. V nadaljevanju so predstavljena načela oziroma smernice prostega časa in njegova vzgojna funkcija. Proučene so bile teze pedagogike prostega časa, njen predmet, naloge in metode.

Title:Pedagogy of free time
Abstract:In this master’s thesis, we considered pedagogy of free time as a scientific discipline. First, we introduced the historical background of the conception of free time and its definition. We continued with principles or guidelines of free time and its educational function. In the following, we looked at the development of pedagogy of free time, first in Europe, then in Yugoslavia, and last in Slovenia where the development proceeded parallel. We presented the founder of the mentioned discipline in Slovenia, dr. Rudi Lešnik, the author of several works about free time. In addition, we studied theses of pedagogy of free time, its subject matter, tasks, and methods. There were also some critics of the pedagogy of free time who mainly reproached it as being overly pedagogical and efficient, which nullifies the value of free time. In conclusion of the thesis, we analyzed the curriculum of study program Pedagogy and examined whether the pedagogy of free time could be found in the countries of the former Yugoslavia and Austria. We determined that in the former Yugoslav countries it is slowly withdrawing from the curriculum, yet in Austria, the tradition of pedagogy is maintained and modernized.
