Abstract:V diplomskem delu predstavljamo nacionalnovarnostni sistem Republike Severne Makedonije, organizacijo in način njegovega delovanja. Naloge sistema nacionalne varnosti Republike Severne Makedonije so uspešno obvladovati morebitno ogroženost družbe in njenih sestavnih delov, uresničevanje interesov prebivalcev in zaščita njihovih osnovnih pravic in temeljnih svoboščin, zapisanih v raznih mednarodnih dokumentih. Dolgoročni cilji politike nacionalne varnosti Republike Severne Makedonije so ohranjanje ter razvoj varnosti države in ustvarjanje pogojev za uresničevanje nacionalnih interesov države. Po razpadu Jugoslavije je Republika Severna Makedonija postala samostojna po mirni poti, kljub temu pa se je soočila z ogromnimi izzivi na varnostnem področju. Dinamika varnostnih dogajanj v novonastali državi izhaja iz odnosov med različnimi etničnimi skupnostmi in političnimi dejavniki ter iz vpliva sosednjih držav, Združenih držav Amerike in Evropske unije. Novi varnostni sistem je že na začetku imel veliko nalog. Moral je namreč nevtralizirati različne grožnje, kot so grožnje teritorialni suverenosti in neodvisnosti, grožnje, ki bi lahko pripeljale do vojne, in podobno. Severni Makedoniji je na zunanjepolitičnem področju največji izziv predstavljal politični spor z Grčijo, ki je zahtevala spremembo imena države Republika Makedonija. Po bilateralnem dogovoru z Republiko Grčijo se je Republika Makedonija preimenovala v Republiko Severno Makedonijo in s tem izpolnila še zadnji pogoj za vstop v zvezo Nato

Title:National security system of the republic of north macedonia
Abstract:In the thesis we are presenting the national security system of the Republic of the Republic of North Macedonia, the way of its functioning and organization. The main task of the national security system of the republic of North Macedonia is successfully managing the possible threats to the society and its structural parts, fulfilling the interests of the population and protecting their fundamental rights, written on different international documents. The long-term policy of the Republic of North Macedonia is to maintain and develope the security in the country and to create conditions for realization of the national interests of the country. After the decay of Yugoslavia, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia was the only country who became independent in a peaceful way. Neverheless, the country has faced noumerous security challenges. The dynamics of the security developments in the newly formed country come as a result of the relations between different ethnic communities and political factors inside the country and the influence of neighboring countries, the United States of America and the European Union from outside. The new security system faced a lot of challenges from the very beggining. It had to neutralize various threats, such as threats to territoral sovereignty, threats that could lead to war and so on. The biggest political challenge the Republic of North Macedonia had was the bilateral dispute with Greece, which demanded a change of the constitutional name of the country because, as the republic of Greece stated, it was against the historical and cultural heretage of the republic of Greece. In order to fulfill the last condition before becoming a NATO member, Republic of Macedonia changed its name to Republic of North Macedonia.
