Abstract:Beseda kultura izhaja iz latinske besede »cultura«, ki je izpeljanka iz termina »colere«, kar pomeni gojiti. Pojem kultura ni nekaj enoznačnega, temveč velikega, kompleksnega. V vsakdanu jo ljudje kontinuirano povezujemo z vzgojo, takoj za tem pa z umetnostjo. Če bi lahko kulturo, vzgojo in umetnost združili, bi dobili besedo ali besedno zvezo, ki ne bi mogla bolje opisati tega, kar Narodni dom Maribor počne že od začetka svojega delovanja. Skozi njegovo zgodovino se bomo osredotočili na vzgojo oziroma se podrobneje posvetili kulturni vzgoji, ki z roko v roki potuje z vsemi generacijami, predvsem pa z otroki in mladostniki, ki so naša ciljna skupina in glavna tematika tega dela. Skozi nalogo bomo iskali rdeče niti pedagoškega vidika kulturne vzgoje, ki so jih spletla zgodovinska dogajanja na naših tleh in segajo v zadnjo polovico 19. stoletja ter se prepletajo še danes. Ugotoviti bomo skušali tudi, kakšna bi bila vloga pedagoga v kulturni ustanovi oziroma na kak način bi pedagog prispeval k izboljšanju delovne klime, ki je neposredno povezana s kulturnim izobraževanjem mladih.

Title:The pedagogical aspect of cultural education through the activity of Narodni dom Maribor from its beggining until today
Abstract:The word »culture« is derived from the Latin word »cultura« meaning »to cultivate«. Yet the notion of culture does not carry just a single meaning; it is far greater and more complex. In everyday life people first associate culture with education, followed immediately by art. If we could combine culture, education, and art, it would lead to a word or perhaps a phrase that would only being to describe what Narodni dom Maribor has been doing since its beginning. By looking at the history of Narodni dom Maribor we will focus in greater detail on cultural education, which has been the trusty companion of all generations, in particular children and the youth, who are our target groups and the main subject of this thesis. The thesis highlights the common threads of the pedagogical aspect of cultural education that were weaved from historical events in our land dating back to the second half of the 19th century, and that continue to be woven even today. The thesis also attempts to determine the role of a pedagogue in a cultural institution and how the pedagogue could contribute to improving work atmosphere, which is directly linked to cultural education of the youth.
