Abstract:
Dandanes je zaradi sedečega življenjskega sloga in sprememb v prehrani pojavnost kronične obstipacije vedno večja. Definiramo jo kot težavno in neredno iztrebljanje blata. Namen diplomskega dela je bil raziskati, kako kronična obstipacija vpliva na kakovost življenja pri odraslih. V analizo smo vključili sedem člankov. Ugotovili smo, da kronična obstipacija poslabša produktivnost, kar vpliva na uspešnost v službi in/ali šoli, odrasli doživljajo spolno disfunkcijo, največje poslabšanje pa se kaže na čustvenem in duševnem stanju pacientov, kar pripomore k nastanku psiholoških bolezni. Analiza literature je pokazala, da imajo odrasli s kronično obstipacijo poslabšano kakovost življenja, vendar nismo prišli do jasnih ugotovitev, ki bi predstavile, kako se le-ta najbolj kaže. Na tem področju bi bilo treba izvesti več raziskav.

Title:
The impact of chronic constipation on quality of life among adults
Abstract:
Nowadays, due to a sedentary lifestyle and changes in diet, there has been an increase in the incidence of chronic constipation. We define it as irregular bowel movements accompanied by straining. The purpose of this thesis was to investigate how chronic constipation impacts on quality of life among adults. We included seven articles in the analysis. We found that chronic constipation causes a deterioration in productivity, which affects work and/or school performance. Patients experience sexual dysfunction. The most significant deterioration is reflected in the adult's emotional and mental state, which contributes to the development of psychological illness. An analysis of the literature has shown that adults with chronic constipation have a deteriorating quality of life. However, we have not come to clear conclusions that would present how this is best displayed. More research should be done in this area.
