Abstract:Nerešena nacionalna in socialna vprašanja, ki so pestila novo državo, vse močnejše delavsko gibanje in ustanovitev Komunistične partije Jugoslavije leta 1920, je vzpodbudilo srbske učitelje – simpatizerje marksistične oz. levo orientirane ideologije, da preko svoje periodike kritizirajo vladajoč režim, opozarjajo na težak položaj šolstva, učiteljstva in prosvete nasploh. Zaradi nestabilne politične situacije med obema vojnama je bilo delovanje levo usmerjenih učiteljev v Srbiji oteženo, zato so morali svoje ideje izražati ter uresničevati skozi številne forme, klube in organizacije. Učitelji, združeni okoli levo naravnanih pedagoških glasil (Učiteljske borbe, Učiteljske iskre, Učiteljske straže) založbe Budućnost in Učiteljske kulturno-prosvetne zadruge Vuk Karadžić, so se zavzemali za novo svobodno družbo, za boljši položaj jugoslovanskega učitelja, za boljšo prihodnost otroka, njihovo največje poslanstvo in zahtevo pa je predstavljala reforma šole po principu sovjetske delovne šole.

Title:Left-oriented teachers in Serbia during interwar period (1918-1941)
Abstract:Unsolved national and social issues in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, the growing labour movement and the establishment of the Communist Party of Yugoslavia in the year 1920 encouraged Serbian teachers – sympathisers of Marxism to criticise the regime and to bring attention to the problems concerning the life of teachers and Education in general. Due to the unsettled political situation in the Interwar period, left-oriented teachers in Serbia faced many difficulties and challenges in their work. Therefore, they had to implement their ideas through various forms, clubs and organisations. Teachers gathered around left-wing pedagogical journals (Učiteljska borba, Učiteljska iskra, Učiteljska straža), publishing house Budućnost and left-oriented Teacher's cultural society Vuk Karadžić fought for free society, better circumstances for the Yugoslavian teacher and a prosperous future for children. Their greatest demand was the educational reform on the principal of the Soviet progressive school.
