Abstract:
Proces digitalizacije gradbenega sektorja v grobem sestavljata dve medsebojno tesno povezani področji: razvoj informacijsko komunikacijske tehnologije (v nadaljevanju IKT) in sodobna metodologija dela. Udeležencem želimo olajšati odločitev in izbrati primeren načina vstopa v digitalizacijo procesov projektiranja, priprave, naročanja, izvajanja in upravljanja gradbenih projektov.

Title:
Usage of information and communications technology for construction support
Abstract:
As in many other industry sectors, digitalization is inevitable in construction as well. The companies are increasingly deciding to digitalize their work processes. The reason behind this is a global trend of digitalization in the AEC industry (AEC stands for architecture, engineering and construction), which significantly increases efficiency, transparency and competitiveness of the companies. In accordance with the Handbook for Building Information Modelling by the European Public Sector (EU BIM Task Group, 2019), the contracting authorities follow the digitalization trend, and private investors are also interested in the positive impacts of digitalization. The digitalization process in the construction sector mainly consists of two mutually closely interconnected areas: the development of the information and communication technology (ICT) and modern working methodology. Dedicated software and working methodologies such as BIM (Building Information Modelling) need hardware infrastructure that can carry out complex processes efficiently in order to function and work together. Our aim is to design and propose a suitable ICT infrastructure for construction companies of different sizes from various fields related to the construction industry. We want to help the participants decide and choose a suitable way to start the digitalization of the processes related to the planning, preparation, procurement, execution and management of construction projects. They will be able to connect their chosen technology with other participants to create an efficient local or global project environment.
