Abstract:V diplomskem delu smo podrobno opisali IoT protokola: MQTT in protokol Websocket. Njuno uporabo smo prikazali na primeru uporabe mikrokrmilnika ESP32. V ta namen smo izdelali vremensko postajo. Vremenska postaja uporablja senzorja; DHT11 in BMP280, ki dajata vrednosti temperature, toplotnega indeksa, vlažnosti in zračnega tlaka. Za demonstracijo smo uporabili mikrokrmilnik ESP32 in razvojno orodje PlatformIO. Pri demonstraciji MQTT protokola se ESP32 obnaša kot odjemalec, ki posreduje vrednosti posredniku MQTT. Pri demonstraciji protokola WebSocket se ESP32 obnaša kot strežnik in odjemalci se lahko povežejo na njega s pomočjo brskalnika.

Title:Comparison of iot application layer protocols through the development of a weather station
Abstract:There are two protocols described in this master's thesis; MQTT and WebSocket protocol. They are used on the example of microcontroller ESP32. The whole project, with purpose of explaining those protocols, is made in a form of a weather station. The weather station uses sensors (DHT11 and BMP280), which give information about temperature, heat index, humidity and air pressure. For experimental purposes we used the microcontroller ESP32 and the development tool PlatformIO. In demonstration of MQTT protocol, ESP32 behaves as a client which mediates values to the MQTT broker. In the demonstration of WebSocket protocol, ESP32 has the role of a server and clients easily connect to it through the browser.
