Abstract:
Literaturo smo iskali v podatkovnih bazah PubMed, MEDLINE, CINAHL in Google Učenjak. Uporabili smo vključitvena in izključitvena merila. Pregled literature smo predstavili s pomočjo diagrama PRISMA. Vključene vire smo analizirali z uporabo vsebinske analize. V analizo identificiranih virov smo vključili osem raziskav.

Title:
Frequency of lower urinary tract bacterial infections among adolescents
Abstract:
Urinary tract infections (UTI) are one of the most frequent infections prevailing amongst children and adolescents. There are various risk factors that affect the prevalnce of bacterial urinary tract infections that we are insufficiently aware of. There are many causes of UTI connected with risk factors. In the conclusion, we tried to determine the prevalence of bacterial infections of the lower urinary tract amongst adolescents and the prevalence of individual causes. We used qualitative research methodology. We performed a systematic review and analysis of the scientific and professional literature. The literature search was conducted using the PubMed, MEDLINE, CINAHL and Google Scholar databases. We used inclusion and exclusion criteria. We then presented the literature review with a PRISMA diagram. We performed content analysis on the research gathered. We included eight research studies in the analysis of identified sources. The prevalence of bacterial UTI among adolescents was present mostly in female adolescents, which could partly be conditioned with the inclusion of higher rates of female respondents. The most commonly identified cause of bacterial UTI is E. coli. Risk factors also have an important role in UTI prevalence. The literature analysis has shown that the prevalence of bacterial UTI in the world is a serious medical problem in population at all ages. We suggest further research of the incidence of UTI in the upper and lower urinary tract. Research in the area of awareness raising among adolescents about UTI prevention would contribute to a lower prevalence of UTI.
