Abstract:Skozi diplomsko delo smo se posvetili analiziranju plač glede na izbrane demografske dejavnike, in sicer spol, starost in izobrazbo.

Title:Analysis of wages in Slovenia according to demographic factors
Abstract:Through the senior thesis, we focused on the analysis of wages according to selected demographic factors, namely gender, age and education. We first summarized salary-related concepts through theory, and then briefly summarized each demographic factor selected. In the empirical part, we focused on the comparison of wage differences that occur according to selected demographic factors. So, we found that in Slovenia there are still wage differences between the sexes, as men have higher average monthly gross wages than women. The analysis of wages by age groups showed that older employees have higher average monthly gross wages, so those who are aged between 15 and 24 have the lowest wages according to Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia, and those over 65 years old have the highest wages. The higher level of employee’s education is, the higher is average monthly salary. So, those with primary and lower education have the lowest salaries, while those with higher education and college education have the highest average monthly gross salary according to Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia. Using appropriate statistical tests, we found that differences in average monthly gross wages in Slovenia are statistically significant for all three considered demographic factors.
