Abstract:
V delu najprej obravnavamo poročilne sisteme s teoretičnega vidika. Na podlagi ugotovitev stanje poročilnega sistema proučimo v veliki finančni organizaciji v Sloveniji. Poročilni sistem obravnavamo iz več zornih kotov; najprej proučimo njegov pomen na uspešnost poslovanja in pokažemo vrsto elementov in procesov ki jih povezujejo. Vsi ti elementi morajo biti ustrezno povezani, da bi se uresničil obet poslovne vrednosti poročilnega sistema. V analizi poročilnega sistema nadalje razdelimo na dva nivoja, podatkovno skladišče in analitične aplikacije ter oba podrobno razdelamo po posameznih pomembnih gradnikih. Predstavimo tudi zrelostna modela, ki služita kot instrument za ocenjevanje napredka pri vzpostavitvi podatkovnega skladišča in poslovne analitike. Za študijo primera smo izbrali Finančno upravo republike Slovenja (FURS). Primer analiziramo skozi teoretični okvir, predstavljen zgoraj. Ugotavljamo, da je FURS na področju poročilnega sistema naredil mnogo dela in ima zato solidno podporo odločanja. Ugotovili pa smo tudi precej možnosti za izboljšave, tako na področju podatkovnega skladišča kot tudi pri poslovni analitiki. Skozi nadaljnje delo na poročilnem sistemu in njegovo kontinuirano izboljševanje bo FURS lahko dvigal raven poslovanja, prek izboljšanja poslovnega odločanja.

Title:
Reporting system in large financial institution in public sector
Abstract:
In the thesis we study business intelligence solutions from theoretical perspective. Based on the findings, we examine the state of business intelligence in a large financial organization in Slovenia. Business intelligence system is analyzed from multiple perspectives. First, its impact on organizational performance is reviewed. We show a series of processes and elements that need to be properly connected to deliver value potential. Our analysis further focuses on two levels of business intelligence, data warehouse and business analytics. Both are reviewed through different constituting elements. Two maturity models are presented and serve as an instrument in assessing the level of maturity in data warehouse and business analytics development. Financial administration of Slovenia (FURS) is used as a case study. It is scrutinized using the theoretical framework developed in the literature review. We assess that Financial administration of Slovenia has developed a solid business intelligence solution and it presents a good decision support. However, we have also found numerous improvement possibilities in both data warehouse and business analytics. FURS should continuously work on improving both parts of business intelligence system in order to realize business value from them.
