Title:The impact of the covid-19 pandemic on transport
Abstract:At the end of 2019, a new flu-like virus called SARS-CoV-2 or COVID-19, which is a disease caused by the virus, broke out in China. The virus has spread around the world and a pandemic has been declared. Governments have been forced to mitigate the rapid spread of the virus, therefore, strict measures have been taken, such as the suspension of public life, schooling and work from home, the closure of borders and the mandatory 14-day quarantine upon entry into the country. This had consequences for various industries, including transport. Passenger transport was stopped completely or took place under strict conditions. Freight transport has faced a variety of new challenges, such as increased bottlenecks due to longer time periods at border crossings and a shortage of drivers due to measures. Numerous deviations from the prescribed laws for freight transport have been accepted, so that it can run as smoothly as possible.
