Abstract:

Title:
Treatment of the patient with breathing disorders during sleeping
Abstract:
Sleep disorders include problems with sleeping sometimes people cannot sleep or they might be unable to fall asleep. Sleep apnea is one of the most common disorders. The main purpose of my research is to explore all the aspects of treatment of patients with sleep-breathing disorders who perform polysomnography at home. Methodology: I used a quantitative research methodology, where I used an anonymous questionnaire. 50 people participated in the research. The questionnaire served as basis for presentation of the obtained results. It helped me find several answers to my questions. Results: Patients included in my research experienced a variety of feelings. Most of them had no problems when performing polysomnography at home. However, in some cases further diagnostics was required. Most patients mentioned noise and light as two most frequent sleep problems. I found out that patients need better instructions before polysomnography. Discussion and conclusion: People have less problems falling asleep at home and therefore it is better to perform polysomnography at home than in a sleep laboratory. Only a small number of patients were unable to sleep due to negative feelings caused by the device itself. Treatment of different patients is diverse and vary from one patient to another. However, it can greatly improve the quality of a patient's life.
