Abstract:

Title:
Influence of planned balance exercise on balance development of preschool children
Abstract:
In my diploma thesis called "Influence of planned balance exercise on balance development of preschool children" we tried to distinguish, how big of an influence can planned balance exercises have on balance development in preschool children. The thesis consists of theoretic and empiric part. Theory explains and illustrates motor development and motor skills, where we concentrate on balance itself; all its shapes and forms, balance development in children and our centre of balance – inner ear. We specified methods and balance development exercises. The empiric part introduces the pedagogical experiment and presents the outcome of our study. Pedagogical experiment consists of ten different motor balance tests that arguably measure balance in children. The tests were made at the beginning and in the end of our study, in two-month time frame (from April to June 2019). We used a non-random sample from a concrete children population. We found no statistical difference in motor abilities, nor no statistical difference according to gender, between the two groups. However, there was a significant statistical difference in motor abilities after the experiment; as the girls´ groups did not show a particular statistical difference, the boys´ groups did. We made a conclusion that regular and planned balance exercises does have an influence on balance development in preschool children.
