Abstract:Eden glavnih ciljev ambulante za onkološko genetsko svetovanje in testiranje je hitra in kakovostna obravnava vsakega pacienta.

Title:Optimization of managing the queue list of the department of genetics of the Institute of Oncology in Ljubljana
Abstract:One of the main goals of the Cancer Genetics Clinic is fast and quality assessment of each patient. The lack of adequate staff and documentation facilities often complicates the work process, which results in additional pressure on nurses and poor organization. The aim of this master's thesis was to set up a database, which would, in the first place, ensure appropriate and faster assessment of the patient, depending on the level of urgency and, consequently, relieve the staff of Cancer Genetics Clinic of the Oncology Institute in Ljubljana, which would have as result a higher level of job satisfaction, which is also a quality factor of patient care. MS Access was used because it is capable of managing a large amount of data and it is accessible as the Oncology Institute is licensed for the Microsoft Office suite. Both research questions were met and the objectives were all achieved. For additional critiques and upgrades, employee guidance will be required after some time of using the new information solution in practice.
