Abstract:

Title:
Comparison of approaches to enterprise resource planning implementation
Abstract:
In the master's thesis we explored the areas of different methodologies to enterprise resource planning implementation and their comparison. Using the literature, we explored the most commonly used methodologies used in ERP projects. There are many different methodologies available, but we found out that not all of them are established or suitable for individual ERP solutions.. First we described the individual methodologies and presented their characteristics. This was followed by a short chapter on the key success and failure factors of ERP projects. We then selected the three most commonly used and best researched methodologies and compared and analyzed them with each other. We also compiled a short questionnaire and applied it to three people who have a lot of experience with the chosen methodology, and we additionally used a short interview with the project manager. We found out that in ERP projects, older and already established methodologies are used to a greater extent, compared to newer and renewed ones, which are used less frequently. The researched properties of the methodologies show that they are quite similar in the bases from which they are derived, but they differ in specifics.
