Abstract:

Title:
Selection of the optimal layout of the road intersection in Čakovec
Abstract:
The subject of the master's thesis is the traffic-technical analysis of an intersection in the town of Čakovec in Croatia. The intersection in question requires a thorough reconstruction, which raises the question of what layout of the intersection is most optimal. In order to answer it, a traffic technical analysis, a traffic safety analysis and a capacity analysis need to be carried out. Capacity analysis requires traffic counting to obtain existing traffic loads. Taking into account the criteria for the selection of the optimal intersection geometry and on the basis of all performed analyzes, two variants of the intersection reconstruction are proposed. In the end, the optimal layout of the intersection is selected, namely a single-lane medium-sized roundabout.
