Title:The Influence of Exercise on the Development of Balance in the Pre-school Period
Abstract:The graduation thesis titled The Influence of Exercise on the Development of Balance in the Preschool Period has found that children included in the exercise programme (the experimental group) developed better balance compared to children who did not participate (the control group). A non-random sample from a concrete population of children aged 3 to 4 was used. A sample of 33 children was divided according to sex (16 girls and 17 boys) and group (experimental and control group). The quantitative method was used for data collection. Data gained with the use of three motor tests for balance was processed using descriptive statistics. A comparison between the groups was made using the method of difference analysis (Independent Samples t Test, Dependent Samples t Test). Results show the experimental group scored a better result in the final measurement (ME = 0.344) than the control group (ME = -0.324). There were no statistically significant differences between the groups before and during the experiment. We have also found that children who had a planned and guided activity for developing balance were more efficient motor-wise considering the fact that the lowest value of the final measurement was ME 0.212 and the highest ME 1.098
