Title:Tehnologija veriženja blokov v povezavi z decentraliziranimi financami

Abstract:Tehnologija veriženja blokov je zaradi visokega vzpona kriptovalute Bitcoin začela pridobivati na popularnosti. Vzpon je prinesel tudi medijsko izpostavljenost, posledično pa so tehnologije začele raziskovati tudi multinacionalke, kot je Microsoft. Z razvojem bitcoina so se začele pojavljati tudi druge kriptovalute, kot je ethereum, ki je tehnologiji veriženja blokov dodal pametne pogodbe. S pametnimi pogodbami so nastale tudi decentralizirane finance, ki bodo služile kot temelj praktičnemu delu magistrskega dela. Najprej smo v magistrskem delu opredelili termin tehnologija veriženja blokov. Skozi zgodovino smo poizkušali predstaviti nastanek in ključne mejnike v razvoju tehnologije. Ker lahko tehnologijo veriženja blokov uporabimo za različne namene, smo opisali tudi tipe tehnologije in izpostavili ključne razlike med njimi. Vsak nov izum ali pripomoček ima svoje prednosti in slabosti. V delu smo tako predstavili obe plati in izpostavili, kakšne prednosti ima implementacija tehnologije veriženja blokov za podjetja ter posameznike. V nadaljevanju smo opisali enega ključnih dejavnikov za rast popularnosti tehnologije. Predstavili smo, kaj so kriptovalute, katere tipe poznamo in na katere skupine jih delimo. Za potrebe magistrskega dela smo opisali kriptovaluti bitcoin, ethereum in njune glavne alternative. Za zaključek smo izpostavili tudi možnost njihove uporabe v vsakdanjem življenju. Poglavju o kriptovalutah sledi poglavje decentraliziranih financ. Njihov glavni cilj je uporabnikom omogočiti uporabo finančnih storitev s pomočjo verige blokov. Med te storitve spadajo posojanje denarja, izposojanje denarja ipd. Najprej smo decentralizirane finance opisali in jih podrobno razdelili v kategorije. Tudi tukaj smo izpostavili prednosti in slabosti. Teoretični del se zaključi z opisom trendov in napovedi na obeh opisanih področjih. V empiričnem delu smo analizirali pet izbranih platform, na katerih je možno najeti posojilo. Najprej smo opisali kriterije za analizo, sledita opis in razlaga posamezne platforme. Na koncu smo naredili končno primerjavo in poizkušali izbrati najboljšo opisano platformo.

Title:Blockchain technology in connection with decentralized finance
Abstract:Due to high popularity of the cryptocurrency Bitcoin, blockchain as a technology has gained a lot of popularity. As of November 2020 we can see a lot of traction in mainstream media outlets. The rise also sparked interest in big companies like Microsoft who has started to develop its own solution. With the rise of Bitcoin there was also a need for alternatives. The main alternative with second largest market capitalization is cryptocurrency Ethereum. Ethereum smart contracts brought the blockchain technology into a new dimension. Due to instant interaction between two or more parties Ethereum network is used in decentralized finance. In the first paragraph of this Master's thesis we will define what blockchain technology is. Through its history we will try to highlight key milestones that shaped blockchain in last ten years. As there is a lot of need for blockchain technology there are also many different types of the technology. Each serves different needs and has its own upsides and downsides. In the next chapter we will tackle the field of cryptocurrency. Raise of blockchain technology is also connected to financial speculation with cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum and many more. As the popularity grows there is also a need for usability of crypto in everyday life. For that reason we will try to explain how can we use them in everyday life. Decentralized finance has gained a lot of traction in the last two years. The core of the initiative is to open traditional financial services to everyone, by providing a permissionless financial service ecosystem based on blockchain infrastructure. First we will explain what decentralized finance is and which solutions can users expect to see on the market. Same as with blockchain there are also upsides and downsides of using decentralized finance solutions. We will conclude the theoretical part with a description of trends and forecasts in both described areas. In the empirical part we will analyze platforms users borrow or lend money. First we will describe all the criteria for analysis, which will be followed by explanation of all analyzed platforms. In order for the tasks to have a meaningful conclusion, we will make a final joint comparison and try to choose the best described platform.
