Abstract:
V Sloveniji se je po zaprtju Tovarne sladkorja Ormož po dolgem času ponovno zbralo nekaj pridelovalcev, ki so na slovenske površine posejali sladkorno peso, ki se pozneje odvaža na predelavo v tovarno Viro v Virovitico (Viro, d. d.) na sosednjo Hrvaško. V magistrskem delu je podrobneje prikazana analiza perspektiv pridelave sladkorne pese v Sloveniji nekoč, v času delovanja TSO, in danes, ko se na slovenskih tleh ponovno prideluje sladkorna pesa. Raziskali smo pridelavo sladkorne pese nekoč in danes na podlagi mnenj stroke in vseh drugih javno objavljenih podatkov, hkrati pa smo pripravili anketni vprašalnik, v katerega so bili vključeni slovenski pridelovalci, ki so pridelovali sladkorno peso v času delovanja TSO in danes. Hoteli smo tudi ugotoviti, ali je bila ekonomska upravičenost pridelave boljša v času delovanja TSO ali danes. Rezultati so pokazali, da je bila boljša v času delovanja TSO, saj danes peso izvažamo na Hrvaško, s tem nimamo stranskih proizvodov, poleg tega je odkupna cena nizka, stroški pridelave pa visoki. Na koncu magistrskega dela je narejena tudi SWOT-analiza za primer ponovne pridelave sladkorne pese.

Title:
Analysis of sugar beet production perspectives
Abstract:
After the closing of the Ormož Sugar Factory farmers once more gathered to sow sugar beet on Slovenian land. Sugar beet is exported for processing to the Viro Factory in Virovitica (Viro d.d.) in neighbouring Croatia. This masters thesis presents in more detail the analysis of sugar beet production in Slovenia during the operations of the Ormož Sugar Factory and today, when sugar beet is once again grown on Slovenian soil. Sugar beet production in the past and present was researched on the basis of profession and other publicly available data. A questionaire was prepared and administered for sugar beet producers that operate both nowaday and during the operations of the Ormož Sugar Factory. It was assessed whether the economical viability was better during the operations of the Ormož Sugar Factory or nowadays. Results have shown that the economical viability was better during the operations of the Ormož Sugar Factory, as we have to export sugar beet to Croatia and therefore have no byproducts, on the top of that the purchase price is low and production costs are high. A SWOT-analysis for the case of sugar beet re-cultivation was also created.
