Abstract:
Magistrsko delo začenjamo s teoretičnim pregledom sodobnega koncepta 4. industrijske revolucije in digitalne transformacije. Predstavimo možnosti uporabe veriženja blokov v oskrbovalnih verigah in analiziramo obstoječe primere. Zaključujemo z diskusijo in lastnimi napovedi glede uporabe veriženja blokov v managementu oskrbovalnih verig.

Title:
Blockchain in Supply Chains
Abstract:
This paper commences with a literature review of a modern concept, namely the 4th Industrial revolution and Digital transformation. The latter entails changes for organizations within supply chains. The changes will be witnessed in almost any of the business functions, especially in research & development, manufacturing, and in logistics management with purchasing. The second part of theoretical background covers the Supply chain management. The authors explain its importance, how enterprises nowadays compete on global markets and how the essential elements of the 4th Industrial revolution contribute to the dynamics of the modern Supply chain management. The authors focus on the pertaining challenges in supply chains, namely information technology, knowledge sharing, and closer collaboration based on the blockchain technology. The current study identifies blockchain as a future-generation IT-based technology that addresses a closer collaboration among the stakeholders within supply chains in a comprehensive manner. The research part hence starts with an examination of the blockchain technology, continues with an observation of the technology itself works, and ends with an identification of opportunities and barriers in the domain of the blockchain use in the Supply chain management. The master thesis concludes with an insightful discussion and forecasts regarding the use of the blockchain technology in the Supply chain management.
