Abstract:
V teoretičnem delu smo dokument Vodna direktiva predstavili in analizirali z geografskega vidika preučevanja vodnih ekosistemov. Analizirali smo pet vodnih teles v severovzhodni Sloveniji, in sicer potok Bistrico, reko Dravinjo, ribnik Gaj na Pragerskem, Sestrško jezero in izvir Toplega potoka v Studenicah.

Title:
Implementation in Practice of the Water Framework Directive on the Selected Cases
Abstract:
The Water Framework Directive is a very important European document which protects and restores European water ecosystems. It is an important document for the Republic of Slovenia, a member of the European Union. In the theoretical part, the Water Framework Directive was introduced and analysed from a geographical point of view of water ecosystem study. With the analysis of Water Framework Directive, structure, content and Water Framework Directive representatives were thoroughly researched. In the practical part of the study, the results of successful implementation of the Water Framework Directive in Slovenia and the neighbouring countries were shown. The measures implemented in Slovenia for improvement of water ecosystems were introduced. The foundation of the main research was on analysis of the chosen water bodies and Water Framework Directive criteria monitoring. Five water bodies of northeast Slovenia, stream Bistrica, river Dravinja, pond Gaj at Pragersko, lake Sestrško jezero and source of Topli potok at Studenice, were researched and there were certain measurements done. The results of done measurements showed very good, good or moderate quality ranking of the Water Framework Directive requirements. Pedagogical perspective was implemented in the research for teachers in secondary schools to include in their teachings and therefore allow their students to learn about the Water Framework Directive as a European document, which protects water resources with the emphasis on geographical fieldwork
