Title:APARTMENT TOWER
Abstract:The final part of our thesis is a one - apartment concept tower that can house up to five people. The tower is a twentymeter high steel structure enclosed in glass. It functions as a private lookout tower for renting. The basic design motif was taken from the historic Pohorje glass tradition. The shape of the tower resembles an elongated piece of broken glass embedded in the ground. The body of the irregular shape is a twelve-sided convex polyhedron, or twenty thirty-edged vertexes with no triangular surfaces. The irregular shaped body is a twelve-sided convex polyhedron, none of which are triangular. The algorithmic defined body was later stretched into a vertical position, to the height of seven floors. The first floor is less than 5 m2 and the terrace above is over 15 m2. The total living area is 70 m2. From the bottom up, the rooms are arranged in the following order: entrance, kitchen, children’s room, bathroom, bedroom, living room and terrace. They are joined by ladders in the interior and a multifunctional panoramic elevator attached to the facade. We reach the entrance platform through a ladder, through wooded trunks and branches, to a height of four meters, where we enter the building. Its greatest feature is a pointed tip, which occupies only a square meter of the floor area. The tower is connected to a slightly wider underground concrete room by use of steel ropes.
