Abstract:Vsak posameznik drugače doživlja prosti čas. V teoretičnem delu smo opredelili prosti čas, izpostavili njegov pomen in dejavnike, opisali vrste in načela prostega časa.

Title:Extra-Curricular activities as a factor in leisure time organisation of primary school students
Abstract:Every individual is experiencing leisure time differently. Experts have different definitions of leisure time. It is common to most definitions that an individual can freely choose what to do in his free time. There are several factors that influence how an individual will spend his free time: abilities, interests, economic conditions, space, family, school and local community. In theoretical part we presented the definition of free time, highlited its significance and factors, and described the types and principles of free time. We also presented the developmental-psychological aspect of structuring free time. We have described the results of some of already conducted research and included opinions of various authors. In the empirical part of master thesis we used questionnaire to get the answers to questions about whether students engage in extracurricular activities, in which they engage and if students that engage in extracurricullar activities have better academic achievement, and above all, if engaging in extracurricular activities affects organization od students free time. We have found that the majority of students engage in sports activities and the least students in activities in social science. Students engaged in interest-based activities have a higher average grade and better learning achievement in all three main subjects, than students who do not engage in interest-based activities. Students who engage in at least one extracurricular activities are more organized.
