Abstract:
Bipolarna motnja je pogosto, zapleteno in ponavljajoče se hudo duševno stanje s progresivnimi motnjami socialne in kognitivne funkcije. Temo diplomskega dela smo raziskali z analiziranjem relevantne literature, katero smo preučili s pomočjo virov najdenih v podatkovnih bazah ScienceDirect, Web of Science, CINAHL in PubMed.

Title:
Impact of bipolar disorder on relationships in the family
Abstract:
Bipolar disorder is a common, complicated and recurring severe mental state with progressive disorders of the social and cognitive function. Research indicates that this disorder affects 1.5% of the population. Bipolar disorder is characterized by a mania with episodes of depression. Bipolar disorder is a serious illness that seriously affects the lives of the affected and their families. we have studied how the patient's relatives are affected by bipolar disorder and what is the impact of the disease on their interrelations. It was used a descriptive method of work. The topic of the thesis was studied by analysing the relevant literature, which was examined using sources found in ScienceDirect databases, Web of Science, CINAHL and PubMed.The quality of a person with a bipolar disorder is worse and these people need a lot of help from the family. Likewise, the family must offer a lot of support and compassion to their family. Family must be taught about diseases and measures to provide additional support to the patient and to alleviate the illness. It often faces emotional burnout and crisis. Nurses are also very important, who need to educate their family about bipolar disorder and measures.Bipolar disorder has a significant impact on the quality of life of the affected person and the relationships between family members. We think that the patient need more intensive individual approach. It would also be necessary to increase family information about bipolar disorder, counselling and health education of the disease.
