Abstract:Živimo v času, ko so naši medosebni odnosi usmerjeni predvsem v tekmovanje. V nadaljevanju bomo predstavili motive in posledice tovrstnega goljufanja.

Title:An analysis of plagiarism in academic work
Abstract:We live at a time in which our interpersonal relationships are primarily oriented towards the competition. The exaggerated desire for success, which represents a fundamental value in modern societies, often leads us to unethical and conflict situations. Deviant behavior of individuals is to a certain extent positive and functional for society, because not all people can internalize common rules and values. Such people find themselves in a dilemma. They are aware that their failure results in their reduced reputation and influence in society. Therefore they are starting to use various, often prohibited (criminal) methods and ways which might provide them with a more successful life and in connection, a higher social status. Plagiarists find themselves in the adjustment procedure among innovators who are looking for new, different, bold ways of achieving their goals. Buying and copying of graduation or master's thesis, doctoral dissertations and seminar papers moreover failure to indicate the author of the work (especially in final works) clearly indicate that the level of tolerance towards the occurrence of plagiarism is at an incredibly high level. Below we will present motives and consequences of such type of cheating.
