Abstract:
Živimo v času, v katerem so ključni cilji podjetij vseh velikosti zmanjševanje stroškov, odkrivanje novih priložnosti in nevarnosti ter spremljanje podjetja na vseh področjih in poročanje vodstvu podjetja. Z vsemi omenjenimi dejavnostmi je tesno povezan pojem poslovne inteligence. Orodij za poslovno inteligenco je na trgu veliko, podjetja pa morajo izbrati tisto, ki jim najbolj ustreza. Podjetje SAP je eno izmed vodilnih ponudnikov poslovnih rešitev, že leta pa poudarjajo pomembnost analitike za podjetja vseh velikosti. V tem diplomskem delu bomo podrobneje analizirali orodja SAP (Business Warehouse/Business Ingelligence) in jih med seboj primerjali. Orodja bomo primerjali na podlagi lastno določenega merila, ki bo podjetjem pomagal bolje razumeti razlike med orodji ter njihove prednosti in slabosti. Prav tako bomo raziskali uporabniško izkušnjo, s pomočjo katere bomo ugotovili, komu so posamezna orodja namenjena in s kakšnimi težavami se uporabniki srečujejo pri uporabi teh orodij.

Title:
Comparative analysis of SAP Business Intelligence tools
Abstract:
We live in a time when major goals of companies of all sizes are reducing costs, discovering new opportunities and threats, monitoring all business related activities and reporting. Business intelligence is a term very closely connected with all before mentioned activities. There are many business intelligence tools on the market and it is up to companies to choose which suits them best. SAP is one of the leading companies offering business solutions and they have been emphasizing the importance of analytics for companies of all sizes. In this paper, we introduce selected SAP Business Warehouse/Business Intelligence tools and compare them. The comparison is based on self-determined criteria that can help the companies understand the differences between the tools better with emphasis on pros and cons of each tool. Additionally, user experience, perceived through SAP employees working with business customers is performed. It will help us understand some of the issues business users face while using business intelligence tools and thus select the most appropriate BI tool for a particular user.
