Title:Microwave stimulation of heating cavity with frequency sweep based on solid state technology
Abstract:This master thesis describes the development of a microwave stimulation system with frequency sweep based on the solid state technology. The system was developed with the purpose to achieve high efficiency and heating uniformity. The described working concept is based on generating and delivering a high frequency and high power signal to the heating cavity, while performing the measurements of the reflected and forward power using a high precision RF detector. To achieve the high efficiency and heating uniformity the development of stimulating algorithm was inevitable. A real time processing algorithm performs the adjustments of the output power and reshapes the frequency sweep control signal based on the coupled values of the reflected and the forward power. Reshaping the control signal results in optimizing the use of available time at frequencies with higher absorptions capabilities. Verification tests of the working system were performed on real loads. Testing scenarios were designed to measure the efficiency and the heating uniformity.
