Abstract:Izhodišča: Vedno več ljudi predvsem mladostnikov se zaveda, da so mlečnokislinske bakterije koristni za zdravje in dobro počutje, saj predstavljajo sestavni del koristne mikrobiote in sodelujejo pri tvorbi pomembnih hranil. Rezultati: Rezultati raziskave so pokazali, da so anketirani mladostniki seznanjeni z glavnimi rodovi (Lactobacillus, Leuconostoc, Pediococcus, Lactococcus in Streptococcus) mlečnokislinskih bakterij. Poznajo tudi v katerih mlečnih produktih, zelenjavi ter napitkih jih najdemo. Diskusija in zaključek: Današnji način življenja predstavlja za človeški organizem obremenitev in stres. Mlečnokislinske bakterije že stoletja predstavljajo normalno sestavino človeške prehrane in so zraven kvasovk industrijsko najpomembnejši mikroorganizmi.
Keywords:Mlečnokislinske bakterije, probiotiki, mikroorganizmi, fermentirani izdelki, mladostniki.

Title:Adolescents' awareness of lactic acid bacteria
Abstract:Introduction: More and more people, especially adolescents, are aware that lactic acid bacteria are beneficial for health and well-being as they are an integral part of a beneficial microbiota and are involved in the formation of important nutrients. The purpose of this diploma thesis is to present lactic acid bacteria, and to explore how adolescents are acquainted with lactic acid bacteria. Methods: The descriptive and quantative work method is used. As a research instrument the online survey questionnaire conducted in July 2017 was used. The survey questionnaire contained 15 questions and there were 100 adolescents surveyed. Results: The results of the study showed that the surveyed adolescents are familiar with the main genera (Lactobacillus, Leuconostoc, Pediococcus, Lactococcus in Streptococcus) of lactic acid bacteria. The respondents also know in which milk products, vegetables and beverages are they found. Discussion and conclusion: Today's way of life presents to the human body pressure and stress. For centuries, lactic acid bacteria constitute a normal component of human nutrition and are among the most important microorganisms next to yeast.
Keywords:Lactic acid bacteria, probiotics, microorganisms, fermented products, adolescents.
