Abstract:
Preučevan je bil vpliv pridelovalnega sistema (PS) (ekološki (EKO), biodinamični (BD), integrirani (IP) in konvencionalni (KONV)) na pridelek in kakovost (vsebnost vitamina C, sladkorja, nitritov in nitratov) dveh kultivarjev ('Šorokšari' in 'Vedrana F1') paprike.

Title:
The impact of different production methods on the yield and quality of peppers
Abstract:
The effect of different production systems can be crucial for the growth and development of vegetables. The experiment took place on an experimental field at the Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences in Maribor. The effect of produce system (PS) (ecological(ECO), biodynamic (BD), integrated (IP) and conventional (KONV)) on crop and quality (content of the vitamin C, sugar, nitrites and nitrates) of two cultivars (»Šorokšari« and »Vedrana F1«) of peppers were studied. PS were nurtured in accordance with the demands for specific treatment and good agricultural practice. The crop values on BD (12288 kg/ha), KONV (11454 kg/ha) and EKO (10615 kg/ha) were slightly bigger. On average, the mass of the fruit was not statistically influenced by PS (the most EKO (107,0), the least IP (102.8)). The number of fruits was bigger in the intensified treatment KONV (3,7 fruit/ bush) and smaller in IP (2,2 fruit/bush). In the nature friendly treatment, bigger values of vitamin C and smaller values of nitrates were recorded. EKO had the highest values of vitamin C (843.2 mg/l), and KONV (389,8 l/ha) had the lowest vitamin C value. In comparison, the cultivar » Šorokšari« (798,7 mg/ l) had higher values of vitamin C as the hybrid »Vedrana F1« (471,7 mg/l). Concerning intense fertilizing, KONV (71,8 mg/l) had higher values of nitrates. PS (EKO (19,5 mg/l)) had lower values of nitrates due to less intense fertilizing. The only difference was seen with the crop (number of fruit on the bush, average grade of the crop) and the content of vitamin C. Based on this, we can conclude that PS, the intensely fertilized and the nature friendly fertilized system give us aproksimately the same amount of good quality crop. It also gives us a good starting point in deciding which PS to choose for growing peppers.
