Abstract:V slovenskem kmetijskem prostoru pridobiva vse večji pomen ekološki način kmetovanja, ki nudi odlične možnosti za nadaljnji in pospešen razvoj. Finančni rezultat (FR) in koeficient ekonomičnosti (KE) sta v obdobju ekološke pridelave višja (FR = 13.425,12 € in KE = 1,25) kakor pred preusmeritvijo (FR = 2.173,15 € in KE = 0,87).

Title:The economic feasibility of conversion to organic farming - a case study
Abstract:The Slovenian agricultural space is becoming increasingly important for organic farming, which provides excellent opportunities for a continued and accelerated development. This thesis presents the economic analysis of conventional and organic production on the livestock farm Koren in Kočno pri Polskavi. The basic methods used for the analysis were simulation modelling, calculation by total expenditure and S.W.O.T. analysis. The calculations of the total costs for each period of farming (conventional, the first and second year of conversion and organic period) and for each agricultural crop. The aim of the thesis was to determine whether the conversion from conventional milk production into organic production is economically feasibile. The financial result (FR) and the coefficient of economy (Ce) are higher during the organic production (FR = € 13,425.12 and Ce = 1.25) in comparison to the FR and Ce before the conversion (FR = € 2,173.15 and Ce = 0.87). On the basis of the evaluation of cost-effectiveness, it is concluded that the conversion of the livestock farm Koren into an organic farm is economically justifiable.
